Video package featuring Unix, a military working dog at Beale Air Force Base

TRANSCRIPT:
Just about any base that has security forces are going to have working dogs. Kind of just build on everything we can already do. Their detection capabilities, they’re like a psychological deterrent, being able to chase and apprehend people. It’s like a force multiplier essentially. These dogs are trained at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas and from there they’re sent out to their bases. And from there we kinda build on that and then we perfect it. My dog is Unix, he’s five years old. We’ve been together since September. Our training involves bitework, could be searching buildings, searching fields, detecting odors. At the end of the day, everything we do is fun for them. That’s really the basics of everything. It’s just play.
