What is the FOIA? 

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Program (DODM 5400.07_AFMAN 33-302) allows members of the public, including foreign citizens, military and civilian personnel acting as private citizens, organizations and businesses, and individual members of the Congress for themselves or constituents, to request records in writing from the Federal Government. Found records may then be released to the public under the FOIA but may reflect redaction of some information in accordance with the FOIA's nine exemptions. 

The FOIA allows up to 20 working days to process simple FOIA requests, or 30 working days or more to process complex requests upon receipt of the request by the correct Requester Service Center (RSC).

What are the fees? 

The FOIA allows fee charges based on the requester's category. There are three categories: Commercial (pay search, review, and reproduction fees); non-commercial scientific or educational institutions or news media (pay reproduction fees; first 100 pages provided at no cost); and others (pay search and reproduction fees; first two hours search and 100 pages provided at no cost). How to Make a FOIA Request 

Requests for Beale AFB records can be mailed to: 

Beale FOIA, 6252 B St., Bldg 2445, Beale AFB, CA 95903. 

If mailing in a request, please utilize the "FOIA Request Sample Letter" attached under the "FOIA OFFICE" header to the right. If this request letter cannot be printed, please use the format of the request letter to build your request. 

Requests can submitted through the eFOIA Public Access Link (PAL): https://efoia.cce.af.mil/

 

FOIA requesters who have questions concerning the processing of their requests with the Beale FOIA office should contact the Beale AFB RSC at the points of contact posted under "FOIA OFFICE" to the right.
