News Release

BEALE AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. – A wildfire impacting the installation began at approximately 2:30 p.m. resulting in a partial evacuation of base housing. At this time, the base fire department is on scene with the assistance of Cal Fire and other local fire departments, and the fire has been contained. There are no structural damages of on-base facilities at this time. Cal Fire has reported the fire began off base near the Vassar Lake Gate. On-base residents in that area and the Youth Center have been alerted to evacuate to the Community Activity Center and the Harris Fitness Center. Individuals that need to transit the installation are directed to avoid the Vassar Lake Gate, and should further avoid the Wheatland Gate unless absolutely necessary.
