Omari Davis son of Staff Sgt. Glenn Davis, 9th Force Support Squadron NCOIC of formal training, is competing in the Hershey's Track and Field North American Finals which started on August 1, 2013, in Hershey, Pa.

This season Omari has also competed in the Nor-Cal Hershey's State Finals, USA Track and Field National Championships and the Junior Olympics in Hayward, Calif.

Omari has set multiple records on his way to earning a gold medal in the Nor-Cal Hersey State Finals with the fastest time in the region. Not only did Omari take home the gold medal, but he broke records in the 100m, 200m and the standing long jump.

While at Beale Omari trains with the Beale Jets youth track team.

"This has been a great season for Omari," said Senior Airman Fritz Stoppelbein, 9th Security Forces Squadron Beale Jets coach. "Our entire team of Beale Jets is very proud to see how the hard work this season has paid off for him."

The record setting gold medalist was three years old when his parents noticed his speed during the Mini Olympics held by the Child Development Center here. Since then, Omari has competed in the 100m, 200m, 400m, and the standing long jump.

Omari said his current goals are breaking the USA Track and Field Junior Olympics 100m record of 12.8 seconds and the Hershey's Track and Field Games 100m record of 13.6 seconds.

"My future goals are beating the world record in the 100m and 200m dash," Omari said. "Also, I would like to represent the U.S. Track and Field Olympic Team."

The potential future track star will be a name to watch in the future as he chases his dreams and brings pride to himself, his family and perhaps one day the United States in the Olympic Games.

"We're blessed to have a son like Omari," Glenn said. "His focus, drive and motivation on achieving his goals are unbelievable at times with track and academics as well."
