Members of Team Beale volunteered at the IndyCar GoPro Grand Prix by supporting the event's opening ceremonies Aug. 24, at Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, Calif.

Sonoma Raceway celebrated a military appreciation day by inviting Beale and Travis Airmen, and the California State Military Reserve to perform during the opening ceremonies.

The ceremonies included an aerial demonstration from the Patriots Jet Team, an instrumental performance of "God Bless America" by the U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West from Travis, and a flag presentation by Team Beale.

The event also included a 21-gun salute by the California State Military Reserve.

Approximately 30 Beale Airmen and more than 100 military members performed during the opening ceremonies.

"It's great to work with other branches of service and help to support the local community," said Master Sgt. Dale McCollum, Beale's volunteer coordinator. "We were proud to have a strong military presence at this event."
