Beale Air Force Base has been a unique place for many reasons, but as it continues the mission, it takes another step forward by taking care of our Airmen of the 9th Reconnaissance Wing.

Proven through numerous achievements and awards, Beale's 9th Force Support Squadron efforts have not gone unrecognized. They constantly help keep Airmen of Beale happy, safe and ready to achieve the day’s task.

The 9th FSS celebrated their Maj. Gen. Eugene L. Eubank Award win at the Air Combat Command level and will go on to compete at the Air Force level.

“To be a part of Beale FSS and know that our team here came together to do our job and do it well means so much because we are now recognized for the hard work and obstacles we have overcome," said Senior Airman Encio, 9th Force Support Squadron food service specialist.

Maj. Gen. Eugene L. Eubank was a highly decorated pilot who served more than 34 years in the Air Force, and the award was named after him.

To win the award, Beale's Force Support Squadron competed against seven other Air Combat Command bases and will go on to compete against 36 bases Air Force-wide. After being selected as a finalist, an anonymous team of inspectors will visit the base during the Air Force level competition to evaluate the 9th Force Support Squadron on four areas: customer service, leadership, management and facilities and equipment.

“Getting this award shows that what we do doesn’t go unnoticed and sometimes it feels like a thankless job and it shows that we are appreciated. It’s comforting knowing that people get a personalized experience and it shows in our attention to detail," said Senior Airman Bradshaw, 9th Force Support Squadron

The Maj. Gen. Eugene L. Eubank Award is presented to the force support squadron that best represents the priorities that General Eubank placed on the morale and welfare of America's fighting forces to further the overall mission.

“Adventure is out there and we need to find it; Beale is in the middle of nowhere and everywhere," said Samuel Carroll, 9th Force Support Squadron outdoor programmer
