9th Maintenance Squadron

 
MISSION
To produce mission capable aircraft and equipment for High Altitude Reconnaissance missions and student training sorties. 
 
 
 
ORGANIZATION
Nearly 370 active duty, contractors, and civilian members are assigned to the 9th Maintenance Squadron. The unit consists of six flights: Accessories Flight, Aerospace Ground Equipment Flight, Fabrication Flight, Maintenance Flight, Propulsion Flight, and Programs Flight. The unit falls under the 9th Maintenance Group, 9th Reconnaissance Wing, and is located at Beale AFB, California.
 
 
HISTORY
Constituted as the 9th Maintenance Squadron, Strategic Reconnaissance, and activated, on 1 May 1949. Redesignated as: 9th Maintenance Squadron on 16 Mar 1950; 9th Field Maintenance Squadron on 16 Jun 1952; 9th Maintenance Squadron on 30 Apr 1992.
