The Contrails Inn Dining Facility was presented with the Hennessy Award for Air Combat Command Nov. 30, for outstanding food services. Established in 1956, The Hennessy Award Program is an annual competition showcasing the best food service programs in the Air Force. Santa Claus taxied into Dock 6 in a themed U-2 Dragon Lady for the Children's Holiday Party while more than 1,500 members of Team Beale lined the entry control point preparing for his arrival Dec. 10. Defense Department praises 'Spirit of Hope'
The Defense Department, the family of late actor and comedian Bob Hope, and the Wiegand Foundation honored six people with the Spirit of Hope Award for their selflessness and commitment to troops during a Pentagon ceremony Nov. 15.Tech. Sgt. Leray Smedley, from Beale Air Force Base, Calif., was the Air Force recipient of the Spirit of Hope Award.
