"I'm the youngest of my siblings and the first to join the military. My dad is very proud of me, he brags to his customers about me all the time. And if my mom was still here, she would be too. Before my mom passed away, my sisters and I were living with my dad and we were hotel hopping because Hurricane Sandy damaged our home. We all eventually moved in with my mom. A couple of months later she passed. She fell and hit her head, which lead to a stroke, a blood clot and then a coma. It was my senior year in high school and with all of the things happening in my life it was difficult. My mom and I had a close relationship; she would be very happy of the decisions and accomplishments I've made."
