Agencies from Beale and the local community came together to support more than 70 new and expecting mothers during  Beale’s 3rd Annual Base Baby Shower Aug. 13, 2016, here.

The event provided Team Beale the opportunity to build relationships with others, participate in baby shower activities and get information from approximately 40 agencies on and off base.

“We began the Base Baby Shower three years ago to help new and growing families with information and services the base and local community offer,” said Ashley Whitecotton, Airman and Family Readiness Center community readiness specialist. “Families may be new to the base, new to the military or far away from their family, and we are here to support them through the changes they will go through with having a child.”

The agencies provided services and information such as nutrition assistance, healthy living information, child development and parental education.

“It is a great opportunity to network with other military families and learn what services the agencies have to offer,” said Tech. Sgt. Christine Phillips, 9th Civil Engineer Squadron member and military mother.
