U.S. Air Force retired Tech. Sgt. Daylena Ricks, photojournalist, poses with special operations forces during a combat training exercise at Naval Air Station Fallon, Nevada, in 2000. Ricks served a variety of public affairs roles such as forensic photographer, combat photographer and public affairs office superintendent in domestic and overseas locations like Africa, Poland, Iraq, Afghanistan, Thailand, and Vietnam before retiring in 2018. Since retiring, Ricks has earned a doctorates degree, served as a higher education mentor for the University of Arizona, an advisor and board member for the Air Force’s Fortify the Force Initiative Team, Vice President of Charitable Affairs and Scholarships for the Beale Spouses Club, served as a Wheatland Charter Academy Governance Council member, substitute teacher for the local school districts and volunteers at the Beale Thrift Shop.
