"...she lived two more years..." Published Nov. 5, 2015 By Robert Scott 9th Reconnaissance Wing Public Affairs BEALE AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- "During basic training, I signed up for the C.W. Bill Young DOD Marrow Donor Program. About four years later, I received a call with a match for someone with leukemia who needed a transfusion. I later met the recipient. The first time she received the transfusion her leukemia went into remission, but eventually it returned. She spent Christmas with her family in 2008 and then passed away in January 2009. Even though she died, it was good knowing she lived two more years with her family that she otherwise would not have had."
