Team Beale said out with the old and in with the new when the Coyote Run Golf Course retired their aged fleet of golf carts for 76 brand new ones on July 23, 2013.

Golf carts have a battery life and turnover of five to six years and the old, worn-out golf carts were six years old.

"It was time to get a new fleet, the old ones' life expectancy was over," said Ken Yuson, Coyote Run Golf Course manager.

The old golf carts were sold as trades-ins, reducing the overall cost of the new carts.

The process to get the new carts started more than a year ago when funds were financed through the normal 9th Force Support Squadron budget. All 76 new golf carts were paid for through the Non-appropriated Funding Council after approval from the Wing.

The new carts provide a series of benefits to the Coyote Run Golf Course and its customers.

"The most important thing is, the new carts provide better customer service," Yuson said. "Our customers are getting reliable, brand new golf carts that won't break down or need maintenance for at least a couple years and we get to present them with a better product."

The company that supplied the new carts also highlighted the increased opportunities with the new carts.

"The new carts revitalize the customers' desire to come out and golf," Allen Lee, territory manager of Club Car, said. "They help the golf course stay competitive against other golf courses in the area."

The new carts also help bring money back into Beale.

"The carts are our second highest source of revenue," Yuson said. "These new carts increase the opportunity of bringing in new revenue by expediting the golfing experience, which increases our overall total revenue."

According to Lee, the most important thing is the customer's experience.

"By getting these new carts, it reflects that Beale is putting money into their golf course and improving its facilities," said Lee. "This shows that they care and want to provide their customers with top of the line equipment and a better experience."

You can experience the new golf carts and 18-hole championship course located on Beale Air Force Base, Calif. The course is open every day from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., closed Christmas Day. For more information, please contact Coyote Club Run Golf Course at 530-634-2124 or www.coyoterungc.com.
