Team Beale kicks off 2013 CFC Published Nov. 11, 2013 By Staff Sgt. Robert M. Trujillo 9th Reconnaissance Wing Public Affairs BEALE AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Team Beale's Combined Federal Campaign began Nov. 4, with a base goal of $110,000 when the campaign ends in mid-December. CFC is a charity drive for federal employees and military personnel to donate to thousands of approved charities, which range from local food pantries to international aid organizations. It is one of only two charity drives officially recognized by the U.S. Air Force. "Team Beale is made up of generous people who are always very supportive of CFC," said 1st Lt. Rachel Ferris, 9th Force Support Squadron chief of military personnel and CFC manager. "We have a history of exceeding our goals." Federal employees have a variety of options for giving. They may choose to deduct a specified amount from each paycheck or give a one-time donation. "You can donate as little or as much as you want," Ferris said. Beale's campaign is part of the regional CFC Northern California (NORCAL) which services more than 40 counties. CFC started in 1961 and its mission is to support and promote philanthropy through a voluntary program that is employee-focused, cost efficient and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to aid and support charities. CFC has become the world's largest workplace giving campaign and has raised more than $7 billion. "(CFC) gives you the opportunity to tailor your support to your personal passions and values," said Col. Phil Stewart, 9th Reconnaissance Wing commander. "Team Beale has the opportunity to make a difference with every contribution."
