Disabled Navy veteran receives a valuable gift Published Nov. 20, 2013 By Airman 1st Class Bobby Cummings 9th Reconnaissance WIng Public Affiars BEALE AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- A disabled Navy veteran was honored during halftime of a Sacramento Kings basketball game Nov. 13, 2013, at the Sleep Train Arena. Christopher Paulsen was presented a sports wheel-chair from the Patriots Honor organization. Paulsen sustained an injury to his lower left leg, which resulted in an amputation while serving aboard the USS Constellation in 1995. The mission of the Patriots Honor program is to provide unique programs and events to improve the quality of life of injured veterans. Their programs and events are intended to assist wounded veterans transition into an active and independent civilian life.
