The 9th Force Support Squadrons and Airman & Family Readiness Center together with Beale's first sergeants, firefighters, and volunteers from the base hosted the tree lighting for the base populace and the Hearts Apart Dinner for spouses and families of deployed Airmen. Child Development Center and Balfour Beatty volunteers provided hot chocolate and a room with activities and toys for children to enjoy. Children were also able to give Santa their Christmas list and take a holiday photo. The Air Force Band of the Golden West played indoors for the Hearts Apart event while the volunteers from the chapel choir sang Christmas carols near the base Christmas tree outdoors.
