Beale honors maintenance professionals

BEALE AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. --  The 9th Maintenance Group honored its superior performers at the 2013 Maintenance Professional of the Year banquet held at the Community Activity Center, March 21.

The original Maintenance Professional Award was established in 1979 to recognize outstanding performance of direct, sortie-producing specialists. Today, the award has evolved to include all maintenance personnel.

"Maintainers are essential to the mission," said Col. Bob Haines, 9th Operations Group commander and guest speaker. "Simply put, without them, we don't fly."

At the end of the banquet, Col. Chad Clifton, 9th Maintenance Group commander, applauded his group's outstanding performers.

"These individuals have made vital contributions to Team Beale's ability to delivery globally integrated intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance," Clifton said. "They've clearly displayed superior technical expertise and set the standard for excellence."
