Adelan 9th Reconnaissance Wing Public Affairs BEALE AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Team Beale hosted a luau May 22, 2014, here as the final event of the AAPIH Month. The luau had entertainment from the Tiare Polynesia and Makamae Melia O' Polynesia dance groups along with a first sergeant dunk tank and human bowling ball. The month of May celebrates the culture, history, and traditions of Asian American and Pacific Islander's in the United States. AAPIH Month started as an annual week-long celebration in 1978. It was then extended by President George H.W. Bush to a month-long celebration twelve years later. Click to view slideshow.
