Adelan 9th Reconnaissance Wing Public Affairs BEALE AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- After closing more than a year ago, Beale's movie theater reopened its doors to Team Beale June 4, and with more than 250 guests attended the show. The 9th Force Support Squadron contributed more than 200 man hours and approximately $8,000 to restore and upgrade the theater. The theater upgrades include a new high-definition digital projector, an audio system provided by the 9th Communication Squadron, and a new snack bar. The theater is offering free admission to all patrons. "The reopening of the theater is for Team Beale to come enjoy a movie free of charge," said Elias Nunez, 9th FSS theater operations manager. "The theater has a full snack bar, including beer and wine for patrons 21 years and older." Below are the new hours of operation: Wednesday 5:30 p.m. - Kids' movies Friday 5:30 p.m. - Family and kids' movies Saturday 2 p.m. - Family movies, and 6 p.m. - Airmen movies The theater is located across from the Exchange and next to the Burger King. "Our hope is to bring the Beale community together in a welcoming environment," Nunez said. The theater will be showing a variety of films, which includes new DVD releases and films still showing in off-base theaters.
