Author donates more than 1,000 books to Beale Library

BEALE AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Author James Rollins donated more than 1,000 books and other items to Beale's library on Aug. 12 as part of Authors Untied for Veterans.

The donation was a collaboration of a local Barnes and Noble book store and USA Cares, a non-profit organization helping post- 9/11 military families. To date, the organization has raised more than $11 million in donations.

Rollins attended the donation to personally hand out books and autograph his latest novel.

Some of the books will be added to the library's collection and the rest will be distributed to Airmen and their families.

The military book drive was also featured on Good Day Sacramento.
