The Airman's Attic has free solutions for Airmen in need of clothing and household items.

The Airman's Attic is a place where E-7s and below, as well as O-3s and below, can look for needed items free of charge Monday through Wednesday. There is all-ranks day during the fourth Saturday of each month, when any Airman may utilize the service.

Free items available include: electronics, movies, uniform items, civilian clothing, kitchen items, children's toys, and furniture. Patrons may only receive a certain amount of items per week.

"It helps me get things like cookware and military clothing," said Airman 1st Class Colton, 9th Intelligence Squadron. "I can come in after work every Tuesday and go home with new stuff I may have needed or just liked. As an airman first class, it relieves some of my financial burdens."

Beale supports more than 500 Airmen and families at the Airman's Attic. It is managed by the Beale Enlisted Spouses Club, and the organization relies on volunteers to stay operational.

"Airmen can shop for free items to improve morale and welfare," said Rachel Whiteneck, personnel security specialist, 548th Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Group, and regular Airman's Attic volunteer. "I enjoy helping people."

The store runs completely on donations. Anyone moving soon or trying to get rid of clutter can bring their gently used items to the Airman's Attic. The attic accepts donations only during business hours.

To volunteer contact (530) 634-5640 or stop by during hours of operation. Volunteering consists of sorting through items and displaying them. You can volunteer at your convenience by showing up when open. Also, you can call ahead of time and schedule your volunteer hours.

The Airman's Attic is located at 2459 Robert Nicoletti Way behind the Health and Wellness Center. Hours of operation are Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. It is also open the fourth Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon.
