Golf tourney raises more than $80,000 for Beale Airmen

The Beale Military Liaison Committee raised more than $80,000 during an annual golf tournament held at a local golf course Sept..5, 2014.

The BMLC is an organization of civic and community leaders who support the base and hold events and fundraisers to support Beale Airmen through a variety of initiatives.

"Our community has a passion for Beale and our Airmen," said Janice Nall, BMLC president. "It's amazing to see the generosity every year."

The funds were donated in honor of Operation Warm Heart, which is a program that funds quality of life projects for Airmen and their families.

Warm Heart is managed by the First Sergeants Council and includes morale events such as turkey dinner baskets for Thanksgiving, gift drives, and quarterly Hearts Apart dinners.

Over the past six years, the BMLC has raised more than $360,000 in support of quality of life projects for Beale Airmen their families.

"Beale is surrounded by a world-class community with exceptionally caring people," said Col. Douglas Lee, 9th Reconnaissance Wing commander. "They always show outstanding support for Team Beale."
