Adelan 9th Reconnaissance Wing Public Affairs BEALE AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- 'Tis the season for giving, but for some Airmen it can be financially difficult to spread holiday cheer to their family. The Airman and Family Readiness Center hosted Beale's 2014 Holiday Toy Drive sponsored by Operation Homefront at Beale Air Force Base, Calif., Dec. 4, 2014, to help service members give gifts to their children. Operation Homefront is an organization, which provides many programs to assist military members with relief during difficult financial times, providing recovery for wounded warriors, and giving recognition to family members. The Holiday Toy Drive supported more than 100 families at Beale. Participants were able to receive one gift and 10 stocking stuffers per child. "This is an amazing event," said Annette Goodly, A&FRC school liaison officer and a Holiday Toy Drive coordinator. "The communal efforts our volunteers gave, made this an eventful time for the families who received gifts." More than 25 volunteers supported the event assisting with toy distribution and gift wrapping. "It is such a joy to be able to give back to our military community during the holidays," said Jack Chirrick, Operation Homefront California, executive director. "Our service members and their families sacrifice so much on behalf of America. Bringing a little holiday cheer is just a small way for us to say thank you. It is an honor for us to be able to take care of those who take care of us through this event." For additional information, visit the Operation Homefront website.
