Team Beale kicked off the 2015 Air Force Assistance Fund March 23, 2015, and slated to run until May 1, at Beale Air Force Base, Calif.

The goal for this year's campaign is $78,897. Donations received will support charities, which provide assistance to Airmen, families, retirees, and widowed spouses. The charities affiliated with the campaign provide support in emergencies, educational needs, or a secure retirement home for widows or widowers of our Air Force members in need of financial assistance.

The charities affiliated with the AFAF are:

The Air Force Village Foundation - Provides retirement community to care for Air Force officers' widowed spouses in need of financial assistance.

The Air Force Aid Society - Provides worldwide emergency assistance for education, living and vehicle expense to active duty and retired Airmen, and their families.

The General and Mrs. Curtis E. LeMay Foundation - Awards grants to enlisted and officer retirees' widowed spouses that fall below the poverty line to assist with hearing aids, dental care and minor home repairs.

The Air Force Enlisted Village - Offers a home to not only widowed spouses but mothers of active duty and retired military members. The AFEV provides temporary housing to surviving spouses of enlisted members who died while on active duty.

"The idea of the campaign isn't about meeting our goal; it's about Airmen helping Airmen," said Master Sgt. Jeff Myers, AFAF installation project officer. "Donating can make a difference in a fellow Airman's life, so we are encouraging members to help other who may be in need."
