Team Beale took action in the observance of Earth Day April 22, 2015, honoring it with a week-long celebration here.

Earth Day is an annual recognition where worldwide events are held to support environmental protection. It was first celebrated in 1970, when U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin introduced the idea for a "national teach-in on the environment."

"Earth Day is a time for us to learn how we can protect and preserve the environment and natural resources," said Bridgette Kirk, 9th Civil Engineering Squadron environmental impact analysis process.

The week's events included a birds of prey presentation, tree planting, a vernal pool tour and a guided nature walk.

"Team Beale strives to incorporate environmental acts to protecting the environment," said Chuck Carroll, 9th CES natural resources manager. "The installation is 23,000 acres with a diverse wildlife habitat, so we take every opportunity to preserve the environment, not only on Earth Day, but year around."
