Beale has earned recognition at the highest Air Force level as the recipient of the 2024-2025 General Thomas D. White (GTDW) award for the environmental restoration installation category. This prestigious award recognizes the installation’s outstanding achievements in environmental restoration and its unwavering commitment to protecting and preserving the local environment for the community and future generations.

“Receiving the GTDW award is incredibly meaningful because it rewards the entire team, not just an individual,” said Darren Rector, Air Force Civil Engineer Center restoration program manager. “When I say team, I’m referring to everyone who supports Beale’s restoration efforts. The dedicated partners at the regulatory agencies, skilled contractors, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District. I have deep gratitude for every single person involved. This award is a powerful recognition of our shared commitment to environmental excellence.”

The GTDW award acknowledges innovative and tireless efforts in accelerating cleanup, pioneering new technologies, engaging with the community and implementing sustainable remediation practices.

“The team deserves this well-earned recognition,” said U.S. Air Force Col. Keagan McLeese, 9th Reconnaissance Wing, commander. “This award is a testament to the dedication to environmental stewardship and the innovative spirit found at Beale in tackling the most complex environmental challenges. This work not only protects our natural resources but also directly enhances our ability to enable America’s Power Projection.”
