The U.S. Air Force Community Assessment Survey began April 5 and continues for 10 weeks. This year's theme is, "A Strong Community Depends on You."

The Community Assessment is the only Air Force-wide survey that includes spouses, and it tailors feedback for community or installation improvements. Feedback does have an impact.

"Resources have never been as scarce, and it's never been more important than now that we have good, reliable information on how best to apply those resources toward building a better Air Force Community, starting right here at Beale," said Cathy Knight,
9th Reconnaissance Wing community support coordinator.

If selected to participate, an e-mail invitation will be sent to work e-mail addresses. Spouses will be sent a postcard in the mail with the web link. The survey takes approximately 30 minutes and is completely anonymous.

"We need to make sure our programs are meeting the needs of Airmen and their families," said Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force James A. Cody. "This survey is one way we can learn how well we're doing. It's every Airman's responsibility to provide some honest feedback to help."

The survey provides data on community wellness, strengths, and risks to Airmen and their families. Previous surveys have resulted in new parks, job opportunities for spouses, increased support networks and new classes.

For more than a decade, the Air Force Community Assessment Survey has been the primary means to improve established programs and services that support families.

"Our Air Force is all about people...caring for Airmen and their families," said Gen. Mark A. Welsh III, Air Force chief of staff. "Please invest some time in sharing your thoughts and opinions on how we can do this better and make our Air Force community stronger."
