  • Changes in Change of Commands

    Change of Command ceremonies will look different this year due to the current climate caused by COVID-19. To adhere with Centers of Disease Control social distancing guidelines, changes to reduce physical attendance during ceremonies were put in place, such as limited seating and the addition of virtual attendance.
  • Wildfire training turns to trial

    Northern California is an area prone to wildfires, which poses a hazard to both Recce Town’s members and assets. To combat this threat, the 9th Civil Engineer Squadron’s (CES) Fire Department organized training with wildland fire experts May 29, 2020.  During the training, the firefighters were put to the test.

    Air Combat Command is the primary force provider of combat airpower to war fighting commands, which makes receiving recognition at that level prestigious. Our very own Senior Master Sgt. Adam Barraclough, 9th Security Forces Squadron superintendent, won ACC Senior Non-commissioned Officer (SNCO).

  • Chief of Chaplains Pays Virtual Visit to Recce Town Chaplain Corps

    Despite the impacts COVID-19 has had on travel, Air Force Higher Headquarter (HHQ) leaders continue to connect with Airmen. Chaplain (Maj. Gen) Steven Schaick, U.S. Air Force Chief of Chaplains, held a virtual meeting with the Recce Town Chaplain Corps team on May 26
  • Preparing First-term Airmen Virtually

    Recce Town’s First Term Airmen Center (FTAC) team set up an innovative way of accomplishing their mission during COVID-19 by providing their course virtually to Airmen here. An FTAC class of 30 Airmen from Beale became the first in the Air Combat Command to graduate virtually on April 24, 2020.
  • Police Week 2020: 9th SFS pay their respects

    The 9th Security Forces Squadron and members of Recce Town participated in Police Week activities, May 11 - 15, 2020, to honor the men and women of law enforcement who serve and protect our communities and those who lost their lives in the line of duty. In 1962, President John F. Kennedy created Peace Officers Memorial Day, a day to pay tribute to peace officers that have fallen, or been disabled in the line of duty. This day is celebrated on May 15th.
  • 9th RW Salute to Northern California with flyover

    Pilots take to the sky in T-38 Talons in part of Beale's contribution to the Air Force Salutes campaign as a sign of support to healthcare professionals, first responders, and essential personnel who risk their lives every day during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as those staying at home to "flatten the curve" of the virus.
