Adopt an Airman

"Finding your new home in Recce Town USA"

The Beale AFB Adopt-An-Airman Program is a support network for new Airman joining the Beale AFB Family.

Are you:

  • A first term Airman living in the dorms?
  • Curious about the local area?
  • Interested in meeting people with similar interests?
  • Do you want a friend, mentor or someone to talk to outside of work?

Then then AAA program might be for you!

The Process

  1. Fill out a short survey identifying your interests and preferences (including getting paired with a wingman)
  2. Get matched with a family who has similar interests and hobbies
  3. Explore, learn and prosper

The program leads will introduce you to your family and once all the pairings have been completed your all set! No matter what hobbies you enjoy from outdoor actives to anime or gaming there are families who share those interests and want to adopt you!

How long does the process take?

The process can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks in order to match you with the best family based on your preferences.

What happens if the family and I don’t get along?

That’s okay! It happens. If that is the case simply let the program leads know and we’ll match you with another family.

What if I’m an individual who wants to adopt an airman?

That’s awesome! There are tons of Airman who need support! The signup process is slightly different but you provide the same information as the Airman. Additionally to be a host family you must be at least a SSgt (or Civilian equivalent) with a Spouse.

The area is packed with amazing things to do and signing up with the program gives you the opportunity to see it with a family that knows the area while developing a support system on base and in the local community.

Adapting to a new environment can be a challenge even for seasoned NCO’s and Officers, but you don’t have to do it alone. The Adopt-An-Airman program is an amazing outlet to learn the area while building up a support system outside of work.
