As I visit the outstanding men and women of Team Beale, I am impressed with their pride and professionalism when accomplishing the mission. Col. Phil Stewart's mission statement provides clear guidance on his expectations for each one of us. The mission of the 9th RW is to train, deploy, and employ Beale Airmen and assets to deliver globally integrated Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance in support of national objectives. As members of the 9th RW we deliver a unique combat capability that exists no other place than here. Together with our teammates from the 548th ISRG, 7th Space Warning Squadron, and the 306 Intelligence Squadron, this center of ISR excellence is remarkable and makes a difference every day, 24/7/365.

We are able to provide this combat capability through Colonel Stewart's vision, "Warrior Airmen, leading the way, who embody Air Force Core Values in all we do." Adherence to standards, specifically those listed in Air Force Instruction 1-1 Air Force Standards, is required by all Airmen. I encourage each of you to take the time to read this AFI in its entirety. I would also like you to focus on the sections of AFI 1-1 covering the definition of professional relationships, political activities and the use of social media.

There are times when some of our teammates make poor decisions or choose not to adhere to or meet standards. These instances require leadership and the courage to make tough and often difficult decisions. It is my experience, that E2E (eyeball to eyeball) leadership is the key to success in these matters. We owe it to our Airmen to have these candid conversations so they know exactly where they stand.

On behalf of wing leadership, please take the time this Labor Day weekend to thank your family members for their service and sacrifice.

I consider it an honor and a privilege to serve with each one of you! Thanks for all you do for Team Beale, our Air Force, and the Department of Defense.

Be safe, take care of each other and have a plan!
