California housing market impacts Beale Airmen
Recreational vehicles sit parked in Family Camp (Fam Camp) June 22, 2021, at Beale Air Force Base California. As an initiative to battle the current rise in home prices and low inventory in Northern California, Beale created approximately 30 spots to be permanently occupied for Airmen in Fam Camp. Now even with Basic Allowance for Housing, Airmen from Beale are finding themselves in increasingly uncertain situations, some not knowing where they’ll be living or if they’ll be able to find housing. This is in addition to the limited number of houses on base. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Jason W. Cochran)
