"I attended nursing school before I joined the Air Force. After three years of attendance, I decided not to continue on with nursing and instead enlist in the Air Force. Ironically, without my recruiter’s prior knowledge, I was selected to work as a Medical Service Specialist. This worked well because it affirmed where I was supposed to be. Ten years into my military career I became a Medical Phase II instructor for personnel coming out of Tech School. I had the opportunity to mold young minds and instill in them the skills and compassion needed in the medical profession. My passion and strong desire to help people made medical instruction an absolute joy. After serving 22 honorable years in the Air Force my passion for helping continues into my civilian career. I now serve at the Airman and Family Readiness Center where I have the privilege and honor of alleviating stressors relating to the military lifestyle for Airmen and their families."
