Personnel and Resources

 

The Group consists of more than 1,400 officer, enlisted, Guard, Reserve, civilian, and contract personnel spanning more than 40 Air Force Specialties responsible for operation and maintenance of more than $2 billion dollars’ worth of Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) equipment.


Organization

 

The 548th ISR Group main body at Beale AFB, California, is comprised of four active duty squadrons, two Air Force Reserve squadrons, two California Air National Guard squadrons, along with a geographically-separated detachment at Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona.  The 9th Intelligence Squadron conducts analysis and processing, exploitation, and dissemination (PED) functions for MQ-9 collection, and is the Air Force’s only unit processing and exploiting U-2 Optical Bar Camera imagery.  The 13th Intelligence Squadron conducts PED operations for high-altitude (U-2 and RQ-4) signals and imagery intelligence collection.  The 48th Intelligence Squadron provides maintenance and sustainment of in-garrison segments of the DCGS weapon system.  The 548th Operations Support Squadron is responsible for mission management, operational training, weapons and tactics, fusion operations, plans, and integration across the Group.  The Guard and Reserve squadrons are seamlessly integrated with the active duty squadrons, and Detachment 1 provides imagery support to 12th Air Force
