Beale's very own Omari Davis, son of Tech Sgt. Glenn Davis, 9th Force Support Squadron NCOIC of formal training, finished 5th in the Hershey's Track and Field North American Finals 200-meter dash on Aug. 3, 2013, in Hershey, Pa.

The event was comprised of kids from all over the country and was broken down into eight regions. Omari represented Region 2, which consisted of California, Nevada, Utah and Hawaii.

"This experience was really good for Omari," Glenn said. "I am very proud of what he has accomplished this year."

Omari's 5th place finish capped off the season in which he competed in the Nor-Cal Hershey's State Finals, USA Track and Field National Championships and the Junior Olympics in Hayward, Calif.

Along the way he earned a gold medal and broke records in the 100m, 200m and standing long jump while competing for the Beale Jets youth track team.

Although Omari did not break the Hershey's Track and Field Games record this year, it has not deterred him from achieving the goal he set for himself.

"I'm going to train so I can make it back next year and break the record," Omari said.
