"I love the military because of the sense of family it gives me, the sense of brotherhood. I can count on so many people I don't even directly know because of what I am a part of. The military has given me a voice and it's given me confidence. My life has been gradually changing by being out on my own and showing myself that I can do these things that I wasn't capable of before. It made me believe in myself more than I ever have. I feel as though I'm doing something with my life and becoming a better individual. I believe my pride for my country and pride within myself has grown exponentially. Before the military, I cared too much about things that were unimportant. I have become more resilient and my experience in the military has helped me build character. Joining the military was definitely a step in the direction of the person I want to become."
