MISSION

The 69 Maintenance Squadron plans and provides on- and off-equipment maintenance to generate global communications relay and worldwide high-altitude combat surveillance and reconnaissance. Maintaining the RQ-4B Global Hawk, the 69th MXS ensures mission-ready aircraft, personnel, and equipment for worldwide deployment in support of combatant commanders’ reconnaissance requirements.

 

ORGANIZATION

Nearly 260 active duty and civilian members are assigned to the 69th MXS. These maintainers inspect, service, and maintain the 10 assigned RQ-4 aircraft worth more than $987 million.  The squadron consists of Aircraft Maintenance, Equipment Maintenance, and Communications Maintenance Units with Airmen in 17 different AFSCs.  The unit falls under the 69th Reconnaissance Group, 9th Reconnaissance Wing and is located at Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota.

 

LINEAGE AND HONORS HISTORY

Lineage - Established as 69th Maintenance Squadron and activated on 19 Sep 2011. 

Assignments - 69th Reconnaissance Group, 19 Sep 2011-Present. 

Decorations - Meritorious Unit Award: 1 Jun 2013-31 May 2014.  Air Force Outstanding Unit Awards: 1 Jun 2011-31 May 2012; 1 Jun 2014-31 May 2015.
